Planets and Health ; Pujya Gurudev

Pujya Gurudev Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya’s Kripa :
Work
(Akhand Jyoti)
Do Planets Influence our Health In the science of astrology, the Sun and Mars determine the pitta nature. The Moon is considered a cool planet; hence its connection with kapha, and to some extent with vata. Mercury affects all the three; Jupiter has a bearing on kapha, Venus on vata and pitta, and Saturn on vata. Jupiter, Mercury, Venus and the Moon, in general are considered benign planets while the Saturn, Rahu, Ketu, Mars and Sun baleful. It is this latter category that is regarded as disease causing. In specific and adverse configurations, all planets cast baleful effects; the negative effect of already unfriendly planets becoming even more accentuated in this situation.
The various positions of the planets are called dasha (phases) depending on time and configuration, and are categorized into vimshottari and yogini phases. The total duration of vimshottari phases is 120 years and that of yogini 36 years.
The positional duration of the Sun is 6 years, Moon 10 years, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Ketu 7, Saturn 19, Jupiter 16, Mercury 17 and Venus 20 years (total 120 years) in the vimshottari phase. Within vimshottari there are further subdivisions called mahadasha, antardasha and pratyantardasha. In the yogini phase, the Moon phase is of 1 year, that of Sun 2 years, Jupiter 3 years, Mars 4 years, Mercury 5 years, Saturn 6 years, Venus 7 years, and Rahu and Ketu each 8 years making a total of 36 years. All the nine planets have their own specific zodiac signs attached to them: the Sun  Leo, the Moon  Cancer; Mars  Aries and Scorpio; Mercury  Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter  Sagittarius and Pisces; Venus  Taurus and Libra; Saturn  Capricorn and Aquarius.
The planets are the controlling lords of their respective zodiac signs.
These signs are considered located in the various organs of our body: Aries in the head; Taurus in the face; Gemini in the shoulders, neck and the upper part of the chest; Cancer in the heart; Leo in the stomach; Virgo in the waist and intestines; Libra below the stomach; Scorpio in the genitals; Sagittarius in the thighs; Capricorn in the knees; Aquarius in the legs; and Pisces in the feet. A person with these signs in his body is called Kaalpurusha.

Self-Expression = Pujya Gurudev

Self-Expression Should Be Effective
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
Ashvina saraghena ma madhunankta subhaspati Yatha varchasvatim vacham avadani janan anu. - Atharvaveda 9/1/19
O the gods of light, Ashvini Devas! Endow me with the honey made by honeybees, so that I may speak to the people in a sweet and illuminating tongue. Speech is the chief medium of expression. It reveals the inherent qualities of the personality. Behavioural skill, talent, and inner strengths - all find expression through it. But on the obverse side, the blemishes and weaknesses are also mirrored.
For the wise, even a short conversation is sufficient to assess the general qualitative level of a person. It does not take long for the pettiness of the petty and the goodness of the good to come out through this medium. But although the chief medium, speech is not the only one; there are other agencies too, namely, facial expressions, eye expressions, modes of sitting and standing, gestures, and so on.
They are all voices of the personality which many times are able to communicate it fully even if the tongue is silent. The buoyancy of self-esteem, the gleam of self-confidence, the listlessness of self-contempt and the hesitations of latent complexes - all these feelings and emotions reveal themselves this way.
This expression of self is not an entirely unconscious or involuntary action. It can be improved and refined by the use of will power and by proper training. But for this, we will have to understand and evaluate ourselves afresh, watch our conduct, and resolve to root out the bad habits, which have crept into our characters. Are we ready for this? Ask this question of yourself repeatedly. If the answer is in the affirmative, you can definitely express yourself so effectively as to impress and even overwhelm those whom you meet.
Thanks GOD, Thanks Sadguru,
Shiv Sharma

success = Pujya Gurudev

The Key to success and self-fulfillment
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya

Satvanurupa sarvasya sraddha bhavati Bharat | Sraddhamayoayampurusho yo yacchraddhah sa eva sah || Meaning: O Arjun! The faith of each man takes the shape given to it by his staff of being & his soul. This soul is made up of faith; and whatever is that faith in him, he is that and that is he.=-Srimad Bhagvatgita XVII-3
Thus the key to a person's success and fulfillment in life is the intensity and focus of his will and faith in his ability to manifest his indwelling divine potentialities. He works with the available resources and gets results according to the circumstances created by his deeds. One may call it destiny, fortune or the result of karma, but by and large it is the outcome of one's own will and faith. That is why it has been said that a man is the maker of his own destiny.
Whosoever has achieved success and fulfillment in this world has worked whole-heartedly to achieve his set goal. Such people have been ever active, with unwavering will, to achieve their aims. This strong will enabled them to overcome all the obstacles, keep hope and faith alive in the hour of failure and make fresh attempts, leading to ultimate success. Therefore, in one word, a strong will alone may be called the real basis of success.

The Process of achieving Siddhi through Sadhana
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
The process of upgradation of the levels of physical activity, the mental thinking and the sentiments combined with the transmutation of animal instincts into the divine traits has been called the science of Sadhana.
In materialistic terms, sadhana means an effort or endeavor done to achieve a specific goal; and siddhi means an accomplishment or the success achieved in that direction. However in the spiritual world, it is a common belief that the siddhis (meaning supernatural powers) are showered by the deities and that sadhana is supplication for the same. In the modern context, when everything has to pass the test of scientific validity, let us try to understand the basic principles underlying the achievement of siddhi through sadhana. In order to simplify things, let us begin with few examples.
We all know that iron is in the form of an ore, when mined from earth. It is purified by the Agni Sanskar (the process of heat treatment, in this case called smelting). Iron ore, in its crude form, is useless. It can neither serve as clay nor as a metal, whereas, after smelting the purified iron can be moulded into a variety of appliances, components of machines and parts of weaponry. This is how the utility and importance of the crude ore is enhanced.

The medicines like Lohasava, Lohabhasma Mandurbhasma and other iron tonics manufactured by pharmacists contain this ordinary iron as an essential ingredient. These medicines ameliorate the sufferings of many chronic patients. The credit of transmutation of an insignificant piece of crude iron ore into a refined metal of immense utility goes to the Agni Sanskar. A crude lump of gold changes into an attractive ornament in the hands of a goldsmith. However, in this development, it has to pass through many processes e.g. heating, hammering, scratching etc.
The value of other metals too increases manifold when they are converted from their original form into articles of utility. The price of a piece of stone is negligible, but after going through a prolonged process of hammering and chiseling by the sculptor, it becomes a precious idol of a deity.

Health = Pujya Gurudev

Health
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya

Personal Spirituality - 1 Health [In this serial, we present Poojya Gurudev Pandit Shriram Sharma’s thoughts on the various problems that we confront in our day-to-day life and how to tackle them. All personal problems can be classified into the following five categories: health-related, mental, financial, familial, and spiritual. We begin with the health related problems. - Editor] Today's man is swamped by problems. The rich, the poor; the wise, the dull; the sick, the healthy — each has his own set of complaints. The pain of the hungry and the overeater is different, but both still suffer. Likewise, there are many types of problems in the world, each of which may be drastically different, but while their causes and natures may seem different, their root cause is the same: a lack of the spiritual perspective. If one fully understands the implications of this, then one solution presents itself to a variety of problems. Like darkness disappears in the presence of light, problems will disappear with the advent of spirituality. Of course, there are always temporary solutions.
However, spirituality is the only permanent one. For example, indigestion causes blood impurity, which in turn gives rise to other diseases. Quick remedies can provide immediate relief, but the only permanent solution is to cure the indigestion itself. After all, how can one place a bandage on every spot of chickenpox? The best solution is one which both purifies the blood and prevents tomorrow's complications. Flies and mosquitoes are born in dirty environments, but it is not practical to attack each one. They will only appear again. If the dirt is not removed, they will keep on appearing. The only way to remove them permanently is to remove the conditions which create them. Man incarnates upon the earth to learn and grow spiritually. Every problem is like a red light to make him aware that he is doing something wrong. If he lives his life with dignity, he will not spend it struggling with problems, and there will only be one goal in front of him: to manifest his full potential. Man is plagued by physical weakness and disease. Why is this problem for him? Countless animals are born and die without a hint of this plight; only domesticated creatures suffer from such problems.
Everyone must face old age and eventually die, but each life should be a healthy one. However, man's indiscipline in diet and lifestyle brazenly violates the rules of nature. Mindlessly consuming junk food for satisfaction of taste buds, without regulation or discipline, taxes the capacities of the stomach. The resultant indigestion causes a host of other problems. Sage Luqmaan was correct when he said, "Man digs his own untimely grave with his tongue." Indeed, man burns his own source of energy, as easily as melting ice. People who will continue their bad habits such as indiscipline and laziness cannot escape nature's punishment. They must endure the consequent ill-effects. Ailments cannot be cured by the magic of medicine. If it were possible to be healthy even after leading such an undisciplined life, rich people and doctors would have gained perfect health.
However, this is not the case. If one expects continuous healthy life, adoption of a natural lifestyle is the only solution. This problem can only be addressed by eating and living in a disciplined fashion. It can be said that reducing one's sensual desires and regulating one's lifestyle is a form of spirituality in physical life. For the body, spirituality is nothing but self-restraint and self-discipline. If this is done with discernment and foresight, one will never be weak and sick. In order to stay healthy one has to follow these guidelines of physical spirituality. The day he realizes this and implements it in his life, the bane of sickness will never befall him.

human life; Pujya Gurudev

Supreme aim of human life is attainment of Life Eternal
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
Just as passing through the cycles of days and nights we do not die, we retain our identity; similarly, life does not end with dissolution of the physical body. It is eternal. Everyday the Sun rises in the East and sets in the West. Moon becomes invisible on the no-moon day and can be seen in its full glow on the full moon day. In between, its phases of brightness go on increasing or decreasing. In spite of this visible change, there is no change in Moons original form.
The process of birth and death too is similar. This may be called a game of hide and seek between awakening and deep sleep. For the body, the cycle of childhood, youth, old age and death is natural. Even after bodily death, the self-identity of the soul remains firm like a steady axle. Why fear death? It is a pleasant change akin to the process of changing old clothes and putting on new ones. No one can stop this process of continuous change. One who takes on mortality through birth in the body will definitely die. In view of this inexorable Law of Nature, there is no need of any fear, grief or sorrow. Wisdom lies in realizing this eternal truth of life and in trying to make each link of this series more organized. Todays efforts ought to be directed towards making the tomorrow more joyful and progressive.
The aim of our present cycle of physical embodiment should be to consciously and constantly strive to tread on the righteous path towards realization of our true identity as sparks of the Supreme Light and Life Eternal.

Remedies-IV; Pujya Gurudev

Present Scenario of Sufferings and Remedies
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
The ancient texts of Ayurveda refer carcinomas as tridosaj gulma or mahagranthi (c.f. Charak Samhita) and sanghaatik arbuda or tridosaj arbuda (c.f. Shushrut Samhita). As of today, in the modern approach, surgery is supposed to be most effective measure against cancerous tumors. However, even if a single fiber or cell is left behind, there are 100% chances of recurrence. Prer and postr operative radiation therapies are therefore necessary; however the side effects of these are no less painful. Moreover, this works only if the particular type of cancer is radiationrsensitive. In many cases, chemotherapy is therefore given as a necessary evil.
Leukemia or blood cancer is altogether different and more complicated type of cancer, treatment of which requires chemotherapy. In the bone marrow, spleen and other blood producing components start generating excess of white blood corpuscles (WBC). Unless the drug type and doses are compatible with the stage, type and cause of the disease and above all, the genetic configuration of the patient, complete cure cannot be assured. Nowrardays, some kinds of hormonal therapies are also tried but again, only few expert doctors and therapists can do wonders. Anti angiogenerin drugs are prominently used in chemotherapy, which block the supply of blood and oxygen to the tumor cells. This way the tumor cells and hence the tumor itself is gradually destroyed. Intensity modulated radio therapy, radio frequency ablation, stereo tactic radiortherapy, etc are among the advanced techniques used in treatment of cancers r especially in breast tumor, prostate tumor, neck tumor, brain tumor, heart tumor, etc.
Hormone therapy is usually applied in treatment of breast cancer. This works on the basis of balancing estrogen and progesterone hormones. However, in spite of significant advancements in all the modern methods, the expenses, the sidereffects of killing of the normal cells and disturbance of metabolism, etc continue to limit their applicability at large. With the rise in the frequency of occurrence of varieties of cancers and complications in people’s liferstyle and mindrbody balance, one needs to look at the support of alternative and complementary modes as well. Ayurvedic herbal therapy offers an effective solution here.

Remedies-III; Pujya Gurudev

Present Scenario of Sufferings and Remedies
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
Moreover, after a certain stage, no amount of surgery, chemotherapy or radiation therapy can uproot them completely. The dangerous (viz, malignant) tumors are of two types: those generated by epithelium (referred as upakala in Ayurveda) are called "carcinomas" and those of the connective tissues (sanyoji utaka) are termed as "sarcomas". Usually normal tumors are termed according to the location or type of cells they are formed by. These include: Fibroma (tantu arbuda), Lipoma (vasa arbuda), Xanthoma (pita arbuda), Chondroma (upasthi arbuda), Osteoma (asthi arbuda), Myeloma (majja arubuda), Myoma (mansa arbuda), Myxoma (slesma arbuda), Giloma (snayu arbuda), Neuroma (nasi arbuda), Odontama (danta arbuda), Papilloma (twagankura arbuda), etc. Malignant connective tissue tumors i.e., sarcomas most often grow in the bones, majja (marrow), and skin and are named as Osteosarcoma, Myosarcoma, Fibrosarcoma, etc.
Some tumors are also named according to their visible forms, such as Adenoma. Most dreaded of the malignant tumors are the carcinomas. These most frequently grow in the slesma (phlegm or mucus) or outer sleshmic membrane of organs. Prominent locations of these are in the lips, tongue, mouth, small intestine, large intestine, stomach, liver, rectum, etc. Apart from these organs, the female organs more prone to carcinomas are breasts and uterus and the male organs having high risk are urinary organs (mutendriya) and prostate gland. Usually people above fortyrfive years of age are more prone to these; however, the global records do show the numbers of youngsters suffering from carcinoma are not insignificant. Not only the painful growth, the profuse bleeding from matured carcinomic tumors makes the patient’s condition most pathetic and miserable. In linguist terms, the word meaning of cancer is crab, which is a creature of arthropod family of the animal kingdom.
Carcinoma is a word of Greek origin r a conjugation of "carcinos" (which means crab) and "oma" (which means tumor). This means a gaantha (tumor) which is protruded like a crab. The protruded back of the crab consists of a webr like structure of veins. Similar is the appearance of a cancerous tumor. Crab spreads its paws in all directions and is unpredictable which direction it might move ahead. Similar is the case of the growth of a malignant (cancerous) tumor. It can spread in any direction, no one can predict which one and how. Its roots are hidden deep inside. More than forty types of carcinomas have been identified in modern medical research so far.

Remedies-II; Pujya Gurudev

Present Scenario of Sufferings and Remedies
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
Hormone therapy is among prominent causes of breast cancer in women. Some kinds of fungus on wheat, rice, maze and groundnut etc are also identified as carcinogenic. Some toxic elements, which may not be dangerous poisons, are found to be mutagenic, many of these are causes of cancers. For example, the elements in aphlatoxin category are found to cause liverrcarcinomas. Some varieties of mushrooms are also found to have carcinogens. Excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides is increasing such risks in most of our vegetables and grains too. The danger is higher in case of nonrvegetarian food as the pollutants, mutagens, infections and genetic aberrations in the animals carry the disease or its cause in those who eat the animal’s flesh or organs, etc. Tobacco or its smoke (in bidi and cigarette), betel leaf (pana), betel nut, gutka or pana masalas, chewing gum, alcoholic drinks, etc are high risk causes of cancers of the tongue, throat and GIrtrack. Breathing tobacco smoke and polluted air may cause cancers of thoracic region and lungs. Because of use of synthesized chemicals and preservatives etc, chocolates, toffees, cold drinks, prercooked tinned eatables and junk food, etc are also prone to cause cancers in different parts of the body.
Endocrine secretion of people working near or under highrgrid power or high voltage circuits sometimes get so disturbed that the new or perturbed hormonal secretions lead to abnormal transformation of mental and bodily functions. The latter often lead to different kinds of cancers. Ayurvedic experts give simpler, yet comprehensive description of causes of cancers. These include, infection in wounds, eating infected flesh or bones etc, indiscipline of snehan, vaman, virechan, persistence of dysentery, piles, urine infection, vomiting, untreated acnes, infections of genitals or uterus during pregnancy or in case of abortion, artificial diet (e.g. junk food, chemically synthesized or preserved food), excessively spicy and pungent food, smoking and consumption of alcohol, breathing impure (polluted) air, etc. Medication not compatible with the prakrati (natural constitution in terms of vat, pitta and kapha) of the patient, repeated surgery of an acne or wound, incomplete removal of pus in a septic boil or its drying by use of chemicals or medicines, repeated forced control of urination or excretion, are also regarded in Ayurveda as among major causes of cancer. Excessive tension, depression, excessive sex, unchecked drainage of vital elements because of sensual excitation, abnormal sleep (especially overrsleep), excessive laziness etc are described here as causes of abnormal variations in normal physiological and biochemical (including hormonal) functions which may lead, among other diseases and disorders, to cancers.
As per Ayurvedic scriptures, it is also likely that some genetic abnormalities which occurred in the foetus get activated and expressed at a later stage when specific extrarcellular or intrarcellular environment is available and result in cancerous transformation of specific cells. (This is significant in view of the latest research on cancerous phenotypes being very specific to one’s genotypes). As tumors or abnormal growth in any part of the body without pain or other manifestation happen to be most frequent cases of cancers, let us look at these in a little more detail. Modern (Allopathy) as well as ancient (Ayurveda) sciences of medicine classify tumors in two broad categories r Benign (ordinary) and Malignant (cancerous). The benign ones are removed by surgery and except for some precautionary measures, there is nothing to worry. However, if left retained in the body, these may sometime turn malignant. The malignant tumors, even in the initial stage, are dangerous as they proliferate at abnormally rapid rate and become extremely painful. Not only that, if left without any check, they may spread across the whole body and gradually destroy all normal functions.

Remedies ; Pujya Gurudev

Present Scenario of Sufferings and Remedies
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
Excessive tension, depression, excessive sex, unchecked drainage of vital elements because of sensual excitation, abnormal sleep (especially overrsleep), excessive laziness etc are some of the causes of abnormal variations in normal physiological and biochemical (including hormonal) functions which may lead, among other diseases and disorders, to cancers. Cardiac problems (Heart Diseases), Cancer, Hypertension, Diabetes, Liver Psoriasis, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis, Encephalitis, and Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) are among the major diseases leading to death of a significantly large proportion of world population. Of these Heart Diseases and Cancer are among the most dreaded challenges to healthcare in the developing as well as the developed world today. Although many effective medicines have been discovered and are available in the market to treat several kinds of cancer and the rate and possibilities of cure have also improved during the last two decades, the positive diagnosis of this disease continues to be traumatic for the patient and his near and dear ones.
The major bottlenecks are the lack of early diagnosis and the complexity of genomic variations and related biochemical reactions in the cause, proliferations and control of cancers. Because of the difference in genomic constitution and variations in the state of cell cycles when the carcinogenic mutation might have occurred or when the drug reaches the cells, etc, the same medicine might be very effective in certain kind of cancer in one person whereas it might be slow, ineffective or even have sidereffects (including progression of cancer in some other organ, etc) in some other patient of the same disease. In modern medical terms the major types of cancers are malignant tumors, neoplasm and carcinomas. The synonyms in Ayurveda are arbudgranthi, adhimansa and karka-aburda. Unani medicine terms it as rasauli. In simple terms cancer is a transformation of some cells in the body, which have excessive growth rate and abnormal biochemical reactions. These cells proliferate like 100% compound interest and suppress the growth of normal cells.
This transformation may occur due to various causes r prominent among them being mutations (due to eating chemically synthesized stuff, or eatables kept in reprocessed polythene, etc), reactions of certain chemicals (e.g. lead) rr especially pollutants in air and water, thickening of some internal tissues, unnatural exposure to ultraviolet radiations etc. Cancer can occur in any part of the body including internal organs, bones, glands, flesh, blood, etc. The elements causing cancer are broadly termed as carcinogens. Many of the modern medicines are found to contain chemicals that prove carcinogens under certain conditions inrvivo. Several antibiotics also cause malignant transformation of some tissues or organs.

Supreme spiritual endeavor

Pujya Gurudev Pt. ShriRam Sharma Acharya :
Supreme spiritual endeavor of this era
(Akhand Jyoti)
Gurudev Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya had identified Astha Sankat  the crisis of faith (in the divine origin and values of humanity), as the root cause of all evils, ailments and adversities of our times and referred it as the King of Demons, who cannot be vanquished by the gross (worldly) efforts alone. The evil influence of this demon has permeated every aspect of life from environment to the humanitys thoughts, emotions and inner sentiments. The origin of the "Astha Sankata" being deeply rooted in the human mental and emotional depths can be destroyed only by spiritual refinement of mind and awakening of the intrinsic faith and the Real Self. The supreme power of Gayatri is said to have descended on the earth for this purpose. Gurudev manifested in his life the divine radiance of Gayatri and wholeheartedly consecrated himself for the propagation of the deep knowledge of the super science of Gayatriand Yajna among the masses all his life.
The Prajna Puracarana initiated by him in the 1980 was the first ever collective spiritual sadhana of the Modern Age. His seer vision visualized the last twelve years of the second millennium as most crucial transitional period from darkness to light. This spiritual experiment of global impact spans the 12-year period from the Ashvin Nava Ratri (in the month of November) of 1988 and the Vasant Pancami day (in January) of 2001. Commenting on the long-term effects of this collective spiritual endeavor, Pujya Gurudev writes  "The Yug Sandhi mahapurashcharna is the greatest dharmanushthana of this era. The participants in this collective sadhana would attain unique inner strength and enlightened personalities. The emergence of waves of divine energies in the environment will lead to the highest good of all beings.
The flow (of mahaprana) educed thereby will influence people across the globe and thus create the ideal ambience for glorious growth and all-round development of the world towards peace, joy and prudence". The sadhakas of the mahapurashcharna were assigned three major tasks
(i) whole hearted participation in the altruist activities of social reform and reconstruction;
(ii) expanding the Vicara Kranti Abhiyan by refining their own thinking and enlightening the masses;
(iii) collective Gayatri Meditation and Mantra-Japa (performed simultaneously at a fixed time interval every day) for purification of the subliminal environment of life.

Dev Sanskriti -IV ; Pujya Gurudev

Significance of Dev Sanskriti
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
(Countinu)For example sages like Vishvamitra, Vashistha, Valmiki and Vyas considered Divine Culture to be synonymous with the Knowledge of Eternal Life and expressed it in the form of "art of living". They inspired their disciples by saying svam svam caritram shikshate prithivyam sarvamanavah, meaning, "Go now and explain the principles of the Divine Culture to the people of the world through your conduct and character." This is the secret behind the global spread of the Divine Culture. The teachers of Divine Culture did not explain its principles to people through lectures but by themselves adopting them in practice. They repeatedly said, "Human life is a precious gift by God.
They said that we have not understood reality and this has resulted in misconception about the aim of life." And it is true, if one person in the world is standing in light, it means light exists; then, if we complain that there is darkness, it means we have not searched for light. We have closed our doors of our heart and mind for the entry of light. Similarly if one person can attain bliss, surely everyone can. This possibility exists for every human being in every era. In this era Param Poojya Gurudev demonstrated the principles of Divine Culture in his life.
He lived this truth in this era; therefore he came to be known as "yugrishi". He taught the principles of Divine Culture after experimenting them on himself and practising them throughout his life; hence he gained the title of "acharya." He was a living embodiment of the Knowledge (Vedas) of Divine Culture, so he was called "vedmurti". Through unwavering tapasya, he maintained the practice of the truth of Divine Culture. That is why he was called "taponishtha". He was the best self-restrained person (maryada purushottam), just like Lord Rama, and was one of the latest links in the chain of divine beings who have preceded him. He gave new expression to the eternal spiritual truths propounded by the scriptures worldwide. He is revered as "Gurudev" by millions of devotees around the world.
According to Revered Gurudev, Dev sanskriti is a comprehensive way of sadhana which synthesizes matter and consciousness; science and spiritually. For example, we sow a seed and it sprouts. Water and sunlight play a crucial role in this process. If we plant a stone instead of a seed, then even the most fertile land, best quality of water and plenty of sunlight would not be able to make a plant grow out of it.
On the other hand, if the seed were planted in an infertile and arid land then also it would not develop into a healthy plant despite adequate amounts of water and sunlight. Just as several factors come into play for the sprouting and growth of the seed, similarly several principles of science and spiritually are necessary for the transformation of human life into Life Divine and attainment of bliss. Divine Culture is a harmonious combination of such principles.

Shiv Sharma

Dev Sanskriti -III; Pujya Gurudev

Significance of Dev Sanskriti
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
The second aspect is that we leave external aspects as they are but basically change our own nature and attitude towards life, become independent of external factors and discover the source of true happiness and bliss within- in soul-spirit, our true identity. Man has experimented on all possibilities. Pessimists have not tried to understand life and therefore lost its meaning and importance. People who tried to change external aspects succeeded in accumulating facilities and gaining power but due to lack of self-introspection their success proved to be the cause of their downfall. People who chose the last option i.e. changing ones sense of self-identity as immortal soul-spirit and not the body made the truly right and correct choice.
This is the aim and purpose of Dev Sanskriti  to bring about a basic spiritual transformation in our attitude towards the purpose of life- and to life in its light. Saints and seers who made who searched and discovered the inner layers of their souls declared that human life can be blissful only if spiritual sadhana is given preference over material pursuits. Sadhana is the spiritual practice that improves the quality of life through self-control, self-discipline and self-discovery. To make life blissful, man needs to change his attitude and nature. Based on this change, a revolutionary outlook on life emerges through which all external situations can be handled, moulded and faced with equanimity and confidence. History is full of the life-stories of people who moulded themselves and lived in accordance with the principles of Dev Sanskriti.
They became living legends and gods in human form. Through spiritual wisdom knowledge they immensely augmented their inner powers. They also made miraculous discoveries in material sciences. As a result, several streams of spiritual and scientific knowledge came into existence. Sages and seers, the exponents of Dev Sanskriti established through scientific exploration, that fundamental ground of existence is sat (existence), cit (consciousness) and ananda(bliss). The Truth and the Principles of Divine Culture have been uninterruptedly flowing in India. The speed of the flow has certainly altered with time. Innumerable saints and seers born in India (e.g. Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Guru Govind Singh, etc.) have demonstrated in their lives the truth inherent in the Divine Culture.
They have confidently declared that if divinity can descend in the lives of a few people, it can certainly descend in the lives of all. It is sure to happen by refining, uplifting and transforming human nature through practice of principles of Divine Culture. Whenever and whoever has adopted this path has attained eternal bliss. Divine Culture is the contribution of divine beings who incarnated in India through the ages. The land of India is suffused with the spiritual energy and divine light of such beings. Since the Vedic ages, every era has had a distinctive group of divine souls who expressed the truth of Divine Culture in their own specific ways in tune with the needs of the times.

Dev Sanskriti -II; Pujya Gurudev

Significance of Dev Sanskriti
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
Today, our nation has lost everything because it has forgotten its cultural heritage. Re-embracing and reactivating Dev Sanskrkiti can check the present all round moral and ethical decline, restore our ancient glory and ensure bright future for the country. India can once again share with the world through her awakened children the principles of this divine culture. The underlying principle of the divine culture is the thought that the real purpose of human life is to uplift, refine, and transform it into life divine. Why? Because present life offers nothing but pain, suffering, struggle, conflicts and mental frustration.
There is hardly any moment when a man enjoys real and abiding happiness in today's world. He does hope that he will get it tomorrow and in this chase of mirage he loses his today. But the irony is when the tomorrow does arrive, he experiences the same pang of suffering as he did yesterday. The hope is then pitched on the next day, then the day after and so on. Man spends his entire life in this wild goose chase and gets only pain and suffering in return. In this quest for happiness he sometimes makes the life of other people painful and miserable. Two conclusions can be deduced from the above situation: one, there is no happiness and it is futile to seek it; two, the present way of life does not contain it.
The first conclusion is a pessimistic outlook, which is ultimately suicidal. People with such an outlook on life remain deprived of the blessing granted by God. Those who arrive at the second conclusion become successful in realising the truth that for attaining real and enduring happiness it is necessary to bring about an attitudinal change in life. There are options in bringing about a change in life; the first is to change external aspects related to life (e.g. situations, people we interact with, available materials, facilities etc.); by doing this we may get temporary respite from pain and suffering.

Dev Sanskriti ; Pujya Gurudev

Significance of Dev Sanskriti
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
Indian Culture is called Dev Sanskriti (divine culture). Its significance lies in the values, traditions and subjective practices carried out in the realms of soul-spirit by Indian seers and savants, whose conscious practice in daily life enables a person to naturally manifest in his life divine virtues. These contemplative and energizing practices of sadhana are designed after testing on the touchstone of personal experience, to awaken the indwelling divinity and bring about radical transformations in soul, mind and body of sadhaka.
The saints and sages who formulated and popularized Dev Sanskriti affirm that man is a spiritual being going through a human experience with a view to awakening and rediscovering his forgotten identity as a spark of Spirit. According to this culture, a deity is one in whom the divinity has to be awakened and who became a boon and blessing wherever he lives. Man has the inherent potential to become divine. When his true identity as spirit awakens his inner nature is transformed into a being of light and love although outwardly he conducts himself.
Dev Sanskriti originated and prospered in India. It is an invaluable gift of India to the world. Rich Indian heritage has several gems in its treasure but Dev Sanskriti is the greatest among them. It has been perennial source of inspiration for countless generations of Indians; and with it India has quenched the spiritual thirst of world in the past. India was hence honored with the honored title of "Jagadguru" (teacher of the world) and chakravati (conqueror of the globe). India became immensely wealthy and prosperous in material terms also due to its culture so much that foreign countries called it "the land of gold". It is a historical fact that the progress of ancient India was due to the adoption of the principles of Divine Culture.

Divine Faith -III; Pujya Gurudev

Atmosphere of Living Divine Faith at Home
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
Edifice of a noble personality can only be built on Divine Faith. As a result, body, mind, family, social conduct and behaviour, every thing becomes healthy, harmonious and blissful. Girls who imbibe belief in God in childhood, after getting married will serve as faithful and virtuous wives. They will consider it their religious duty to behave warmly and courteously towards each member of the husbands family and will thus endear themselves to everyone. Every one will love them and will take good care of them in times of need.
The welcome and love that a bride can not get by bringing plenty of dowry, will be hers by virtuous conduct based on faith in the Divine. Thus the parents who have imparted such a living faith to their daughter have given her the greatest wealth to make her future happy. On the contrary, girls who have grown in an atmosphere of indiscipline, atheism, luxury and intolerance, will produce a burning hell wherever they live. The responsibility for their ruin squarely lies with the parents It is likely that they do it through excessive affection; but ultimately, this proves to be enemity of the worst kind.
The same holds true in the case of boys, too. If their minds could assimilate effects of good impressions and beliefs in religious values right from the childhood, they will faithfully perform their duties towards parents, in-laws, wife, children, friends, etc. Under such circumstances, naturally their families will be havens of health, happiness, peace and mutual understanding. With inculcation of faith in God in their children, guardians really ensure their satisfactory progress towards a bright future. Such parents and guardians are worthy of highest praise and respect.

Divine Faith-II ; Pujya Gurudev

Atmosphere of Living Divine Faith at Home
=Pt.ShriRam Sharma Acharya
The worth of a person depends on his nobility of character. Thus a person whose emotions, deeds and behaviour have been refined in a consistent manner can face and overcome the obstacles and hardships of life and find the way to progress and prosperity. A disciplined person with his influence and behaviour, can turn unfavourable circumstances and bad-willed persons into favourable ones. On the contrary, a person who is full of vices will turn even favorable circumstances into their opposites. Vicious conduct and behaviour always produce a maleficent atmosphere and evil and hostile forces and beings haunt such a place.
We should patiently try to cultivate an atmosphere of faith at home and in society. Faith in God is the best way of inducing a person to move on the right path. Faithless people defy governmental rules and social punishment. Even the fear of police and jail is unable to reduce the crimes and criminals. But if someone believes in God firmly, and feels the presence of God everywhere, in every creature and in thing, then it will not be possible for him to offend anyone. How can a person who has faith in an inviolable principle As you sow so shall you reap, dare to go on an evil path leading to a dark future? Cheating and harassing others is equivalent to cheating and harassing the indwelling God. A person who has faith in God and who understands His Law of sowing- and reaping can never act wrongfully.
A person of faith always thinks, speaks and acts righteously. Only hypocritic faith teaches that one can get rid of the effects of ones sins by mechanically worshipping for half-an-hour a day and indulging in sinful pursuits in the remaining twenty three and a half hours. Similarly, the assumption of getting ones desires fulfilled by simply bowing before the idols of gods is foolish. Genuine and true faith in God leads to a life of righteousness. In order to establish righteous conduct and behaviour in every sphere of life, there can be no effective medium other than living faith in God.
Firm belief in God as ones protector, friend and guide makes one fearless and relaxed. Therefore, one who truly loves his family members, wife, children, etc. should consciously try to inculcate faith in the Supreme Being in them.
In order to develop the body and mind of the members of family, we arrange for them nourishing food and enlightening education. In the same way, efforts should be made to inculcate in them aspiration for spiritual growth. It is the head of the family who should set an example by himself doing regular worship and prayers. If any member of the house has bad habits like going to sleep late at night and getting up late in the morning, remaining dirty, carelessness in studies, extravagancy; bad company etc., all efforts must be made to pull him out of such harmful and ruinous habits. At the same time, they should be helped and encouraged to imbibe positive habits of regular hours of sleep, personal cleanliness, wise use of money and resources, keeping good company, etc.
