A Vedic scripture, Shatapatha Brahmana, describes Ashvamedha Yajnanushthana performed by Prajapati (Lord of Creation) for fulfilling all His aspirations, as follows Prajapatirakamayat |Sarvankamanapnuya gwam sarvavyashtivyarshnuviyeti sa aitamashwamedham triratram yajnakratupashyattamaharattenayajata teneshtva sarvankamanapnotsarva vyashtivyarshnut sarvanh vai kamanapnoti sarvavyashtivyarshnute yo ashvamedhena yajate |

Prajapati wished that all His aspirations be fulfilled and that He should get all the (material) things. He planned an Ashvamedha yajna spanning over a period of three (days and) nights. He performed this yajna. After performing this yajna, He attained all that He aspired for. He acquired all the (material) abundance. One, who performs Ashvamedha yajna, gets all his desires fulfilled; he gets all the wished for abundance.
